Anna Kenney – Recreation Director for Barrington Municipality sent the NSBRA a letter on the page linked below. It contains a list of activities happening at the NEP Causeway/Gazebo site. NSBRA urges all boat racers to avoid boat trials at this site during those times.

The 2012 Schedule has been updated and at this moment has the first 3 races confirmed. More will be added as the dates and times are confirmed as well. Also a summary of April 11ths General Meeting is online as well.

General Meeting Thursday 7 pm at the municipal building in barrington.
There will be a meeting for all outboards on Tuesday March 27th 7pm at land and sea. If you’re going to race it’s important to attend this meeting.
2.3.1 Keel
A keel will not be less than 8 ft in length and not less than 8 inches at the deepest point, with the shaft running through the keel. The keel will be measured from the outside of the bottom of the hull to the bottom of the keel. The bottom of the keel must run in a straight line from the stern post to the 8 ft mark on the bottom of the hull. A keel may be more than 8 feet long and may be more than 8 inches in height.
There will be a General Meeting Wed Feb 15 at 7 pm at Land and Sea Restaurant in Barrington.

As many are aware the work the race teams put into their boats don’t stop in the off season. Many new boats being built and makeovers are happening on the existing boats. Even the Modified Class NSBRA 2011 Champions are deep into a rebuild. Check out the link below for all the pictures and information.
Off Season Updates
The section on rudders and struts were reviewed at the meeting on Jan 18th as there were questions asked to clarify them … the rules remain unchanged but additions were made to clarify them. An edited version of the Bylaws that reflects these additions and is available now.

A general meeting will be held on Wednesday, Jan 18, 2012 at 7 PM at the municipal office (if it is available) … location will be announce on Monday. There have been some questions, so this meeting is simply to answer any questions pertaining to the rules (no rule changes). There will not be another general meeting until the last of April first of May so it is important to attend if you have any questions you would like to have clarified. Also for the inquisitive minds this is not to discuss the structure of the association, this will be address at a meeting later in April or May. If you have any questions pertain to the Association, please feel free to email the president and he will be glad to address your concerns.
Just a note everybody needs to register for 2012 you will be able to do this at this meeting cost is participating $25, associate participating $15 and general membership $10. This can be found in Section 1 of the NSBRA Bylaws.
The corrected 2012 Bylaws form is now available for download and/or printing from the Bylaws and Forms button above. Section 2.4.6 was added to read “No struts are permitted.“.
Section 2 (2.4.6) has been added and reads No struts are permitted.
This was discussed at length at the last general meeting that we finalized the Bylaws, It was just over looked when typing the final draft of the Bylaws. New Bylaws download will be added today.
